Warm greeting from the beautiful island of Penang, Malaysia!!! I am pleased that I am back to my routine sharing of free craft tutorials, I hope nothing will stop me or slowing me down from posting my passion here. Today, I have a piggy clay charm tutorial to share with you.
As you might know that I have just started up an online shop (Craft Passion Shop) recently, life was a bit crazy over the past 2 months. After all the dust has settled, I am glad that I have more time sitting in front of my MacBook writing up tutorials from the back-log crafts I have created a while ago. My friend had told me that I don’t need an online shop for a living, yes, she is right, I don’t need it. Why do I still setting up despite of the trouble of product sourcing, stock check, taking thousands of photos and post them up to the shop? It was because of you that is always in my mind…. the shop is part of the service I wanted to provide to my loyal readers and passionate crafters, it is a product support and a channel for you to find the hard to find materials I will occasionally use in my free tutorial. That’s the main reason of the existence of Craft Passion Shop.
Back to this cute little piggy clay charm, it is made by using extra lightweight air dry clay. Just like the snowman clay charm tutorial I shared end of last year, the clay is very light and it is air-dry-able. Light so that it is suitable to make into key-chain charm, air-dry-able so that you can do it yourself without having to invest into heating equipment. Playing with clay is easy, you can simply remold it or reshape it if you are not completely satisfied with the outcome.
This little piggy clay charm is about 1″ in size and it is perfect to be a key-chain charm due to it’s size and light-weightiness. If you prefer a bigger charm, you can always make it into other sizes. In order to make this cute little piggy clay charm, all you need are extra light weight air-dry clay in white, yellow and pink, and 2 nos. of 5mm black beads. You will also need to prepare some simple tools that you will find in your house: a toothpick and a pen cover. Optional items you might need are key-chain ring and the accessories if you want to make it into key-chain charm and tacky glue (sometime white craft glue works too but it has to be the thick type)
I hope you enjoy playing with clay as much as I do.
Happy crafting and creating!!!
